CHR has distributed rapid shelters aid for marginalized people affected by floods happened in Taiz during the evening.

The Coalition distributed more than 40 blankets and 40 pillows for households living in the camp, located in Deluxe area at the middle of the city, which was swept away this evening so that all residents became homeless.

The Coalition has managed and provided these affected people with temporary accommodation until the local council could make rapid solutions for them. They received dinner males rapid assistance through lightening the place; facilitating the access of helping teams and machineries and registering the households affected and their needs directly.

CHR called on the relief organizations to pay a rapid field visit to the affected households and help them to have their essential needs after their shanties being destroyed and their stuff being damaged and demanded the local council to do their best contain this disaster and find rapid solutions.

The manager of cleanliness office in Taiz, Mr. Wayel Almamary, declared that what had happened was considered to be environmental disaster which might affect all the residents living in the area. He added that they had sent alerts since a while in anticipation of such flood torrents to be blocked due to the huge waste dropped in.

In addition, the manager of Almodhaffar district, Mr. Sameer Abdulelah, has thanked the Coalition of Humanitarian Relief, who was the first initiative in helping and saving those inhabitants, providing them with rapid shelters’ aid and temporary accommodation.

Taiz city still lives in very difficult situation and environmental pollution threatening it with new health disaster due to the ongoing war and siege imposed for more than two years.
