The Coalition of Humanitarian Relief (CHR) in Taiz has issued a new report on the humanitarian situations in the governorate for May 2017, including human and material losses that have been observed due to the events, the humanitarian situations and services in the governorate.

CHR has declared in the report that about 131 were murdered and 320 injured, women and children were among them during May as there were serious injuries due to the indiscriminate shelling and sniping to the neighborhoods during the ongoing war in the districts of the governorate.

21 children were killed while 28 of them were injured; 2 women were killed, while 11 of them were injured as 8 of them were disabled after losing parts of their bodies.

Damage and Destruction
CHR said in its report that about 31 of houses, facilities, public and private properties were damaged due to the ongoing war during May 2017.

CHR confirms in its report that the services of water, electricity and sanitation are still out of order inside the city besides the lack of most of medicaments and health services as well as the undelivered of relief aid from relief organizations and donors to Taiz since the partial-siege broken of the western side of the city in Aug 2016.

Forced Displacement
CHR pointed out in its report that 736 of households had been imposed to be displaced from their houses in (Hathran, Alrobayea, Altayzieah, Alofayrah, Alkadaha and Almokha) and received no rapid shelters aid enough so far because INGOs have stopped sending such aid to Taiz.

Mass Massacres:-
During May, about 12 mass massacres were committed among civilians in different neighborhoods of the city as tens of children were murdered because of it.

In conjunction with these massacres, Ramadan has been a host of the city; while all employees haven’t received their salaries for almost 9 months as well as the quantity of aids arrived to the city were not as much as expected and met nothing according to the big sufferance and need that inhabitants have had.

CHR recalls on helping the affected and displaced people by providing them with relief humanitarian aids through the southern entrance “Taiz- Alturbah – Aden”, considered to be the only humanitarian secure pathway to help thousands of households from poverty and famine phenomena.

CHR has warned in different chances and through its statements from a human disaster that may happened due to not sending relief aids to the city in which they would save a lot of civilians’ lives. CHR renewed his appeal to the humanitarian INGOs and entities concerned to support and provide the province with the necessary aids, particularly in this blessed Ramadan.

Drawing an attention that Yemen Government announced that Taiz, the biggest city within population, is a stricken city because of the war and siege as well as INGOs – in a recent report – declared that Taiz was the most damaged cities than overall Yemen based on the number of murdered, injured and displaced people.

The Coalition of Humanitarian Relief in Taiz (CHR) calls all international humanitarian organizations to take on this serious behavioral responsibility towards what Taiz citizens live and suffer of receiving nothing to meet their even basic needs of food, medicaments and shelters.

CHR issued on Jan 2017 a full map of humanitarian rapid needs for affected and displaced people in Taiz districts and submitted to the entities concerned, the High Relief Committee, was on the top, besides Sub-Committee of the governorate and INGOs.
