Yemen -Taiz
The Coalition of the Humanitarian Relief-Taiz issues his report about the situation in Taiz during June 2017. This report included the humanitarian and material situation and the losses recorded June because of the war in the city. Added, the state of the main services inside the city.
CHR reported that 98 family lost their householder, in addition losing 13 children, 7 women and 47 adult. In the other side, 10 children, 12 women,51 adult injured. Not only this, about 353 householders are injured.
The CHR refers in his report to that there 588 orphan, 618 person are without householders, as a result of the war during June 2017. 21 house, institutions, trucks, properties have been completely destroyed due to the war in the different areas in the city.
CHR confirms in its report that the service of water, electricity and medical service are still out of order inside the city. In addition to the lack of the medicine due to the INGOs cannot reach a lot of the districts due to the war. As well as the undelivered of the relief aids from relief organizations and donors to Taiz since the partial9siege broken of the western side of the city in 8/ 2016 caused another suffering for the citizens inside the city.
Regarding the displacement, CHR refers that 57 families has been forced to leave their houses to live under the sun or the camps. These families are related to more than one districts as Hethran, Alroba’ee, Ata’ezya, Alshaqab, Mana’e and Alkholwa. And the displaced families did receive any humanitarian or relief aids from any party or institutions therefore they are suffering from the bad natural conditions. CHR wants to inform in his report that the suffering in this city is the disappeared of the public employees’ salaries for more than 9 months. CHR added in his report is that what has been given to some of the employees in the education office and some of the Taiz University employees was only a salary of one month, the ignoring the rest in the other offices kept the suffering in the city without any real change.
Moreover the medical situation in the city is the another suffering in front of the citizens in this damaged city. According to the report if you visit any of the medical units or center overall the city you will see the real disaster.
There are a lot of people (children, women, old men, adults and men) are crowed by the doors of these empty units and centers.
In addition to the huge number of injured people (children, women, old men, adults and men). However, the spreading of the epidemic disease between the citizens in this city beside the war no one take it in his consideration from the responsible personalities in the Yemeni Government.
According to the last statistics in the last monath there are 13.635 citizens might affected by Cholera, and 86 citizens are affected. CHR added in his report, that the disaster is the lack of the aids offered by INGOs to the whole city and this big number of affected people.
Therefore, CHR requests all the Humanitarian Organizations in Yemen to carry their responsibilities towards the people in this damaged and epidemic city.
