The Coalition of Humanitarian Relief issues his report about the situation in Taiz during Aug 2017. This report includes the humanitarian situation and material losses were recorded during Aug/2017, because of the war in the city. Added, the state of the main services inside the city.
CHR announced in his report that, the situation in the city is very critical therefore, the people in Taiz are in need for the humanitarian aids and humanitarian reliefs to keep them alive. In addition, there are 73 families lost their householders. In addition, there are 4 children, 7 women and 27 adults have been lost. In the other side, 22 children, 10 women, 105 adults were injured. Not only this, also, 204 householders were injured.
CHR refers in his report that, there are 438 orphans left without father due to the war in this city. Also, 1224 persons left without householders , due to their householders were injured because of the war during July 2017. And they are in need for help and support. Moreover, 38 houses, institutions, trucks, properties have been completely or partly destroyed due to the war in different areas in the city. So, they need to be repaired and reconstructed.
Regarding the displacement, CHR refers that there are 255 families has been forced to leave their houses to live under the sun or in the camps. These families are belongs to different areas as Alahkoom and Ala’kbosh in Haifan district, Alhood in Aseliw district, Bilad Alwafi in Jabal Habashi district, Hithran and Alte’ziya next to Hail Sa’eed Factory and Alshaqab in Saber. However, these displaced families did not receive the required humanitarian and relief aids. Therefore, they are suffering from the bad natural conditions and the lack of humanitarian aids.
CHR confirms in his report that, water service, electricity, medical and sanitation services are still out of order. In addition, the medical situation is getting worse day after day. There is a critical lack of medicine in the hospitals and medical centers and units. . If you visit any of the medical units or centers in the city you will see the real disaster. There are a lot of citizens (children, women, old men, adults and men) crowded by the doors of these empty units and centers. In addition to, the huge number of injured citizens (children, women, old men, adults and men) who are laying there. Not only that, also spreading of the epidemic diseases between the citizens like Cholera left 8000 persons affected or might be affected according to Aug statistics. Out of them 7 persons died. But, there is a lack of the medical aids offered to this city which includes a big number of injured and affected people.
CHR declares in his report that one of the main factors of the suffering in this city is the ceasing of 67 thousand employees’ salaries since 11 months. CHR appeals the government to pay the salaries for the employees to help them to provide the basic things of life for their families.
Again and again, CHR requests all the Humanitarian Organizations, Institutions and the responsible persons in Yemen to carry their responsibilities towards the people in this damaged, epidemic and sieged city, and provide the people with the needed relief and humanitarian aids as soon as.
